Communications.

  • Coaches handbook – Colette and Charlie to handle. Per Charlie C. this item is being worked on. Charlie to get information for Colette T. and Bob K. for inclusion in the handbook.

  • Board member packet – Marsha L. is helping pull this information together. Detailed discussion of item tabled until next Board meeting.

    • U14 Boys: No team.

    • U13 Girls: One Div I team plus a Div II team.

    • U12 Boys: Two Div I teams plus Div II (3rd team) is recommended. Ben W. is going to talk to parents on the Div II team to make sure the players are committed and to recruit a coach. If the team does not proceed some players will be put on the two other U12 teams and the U13 Div II team.

  • Key positions to be filled include advertising program and concessions chairs needed.

  • 65 teams registered to date including 26 FYSA teams.

Old Business.

  • Is anyone taking the referee assignor course on August 5 & 6, 6-9pm at Howard’s Topsham. Chris Murry is taking the course.

  • Referee shirts – Motion made by Chris M. for FYSA to pay for referee shirts (up to $20 at Coastal Athletics) for current and ex-FYSA players who have taken and passed the referee course and will referee FYSA games this year. Motion seconded by Bob K. and passed by the board.

New Business.

  • Youth Module will be September 3rd from 5:30pm-9:30pm at the Falmouth Middle School (large gym and softball field). Andy Biggs will teach. U10 coordinators have been notified so they can let all U10 coaches know. All U10 coaches must attend.

  • News from the Metro division or the state (SoccerMaine) – Chris Murry

  • U-10 Uniforms: Motion made by Bob K. to provide the U10 players with two tee shirts, one white and one blue, for this season in lieu of new blue-white High-Five shirts. Motion seconded by Marsha L. and passed by the Board.

  • Adding players to rosters after they are submitted to the State results in an additional fee from Soccer Maine. Modifying rosters after-the-fact also causes additional paperwork for the Registrar. We should make every effort to finalize rosters on time. If a roster must be modified after-the-fact and a fee is incurred, the player added to the team should incur the cost.

  • Motion by Chris M. and seconded by Bob K. that going forward, FYSA will reimburse FYSA coaches course fees for the U10 module, E license and D license. Motion passed by the Board.

Next Meeting. September 8, 2003 at 7pm at Norway Savings Bank. Then unless any objections the following one will be October 6, 2003 (this is Yom Kippur) at 7pm at Norway Savings Bank. Both meetings are very important – please mark your calendars!
